What do I do: I want a Christian Perspective

God loves people and desires for them to be set free from drugs, or any other thing that holds them captive. God loves you and desires for you to be set free from drugs.

As you may have already learned, the drugs that you abuse have gained a certain amount of control over you. Not only that, but it is affecting your body and your mind in a manner that God never intended. Drug abuse falls short of God’s plan for your life and also keeps you from experiencing the great life that God desires for you.

In order to experience all that God has in store for you, you must first open your life to Jesus Christ. The Bible says that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2nd Corinthians 5:17). The first step in total recovery is to give your life fully to Jesus Christ. Becoming a Christian will not automatically remove the drug addiction or the urges that you feel, but it will give you a foundation for healing the brokenness associated with the drugs.
