Dating

I don’t know how to choose a date.

  1. Choosing who to date can be a very difficult task. There are many things to consider. Perhaps most importantly, look for a date that has some basic things in common with you. What qualities are most important to you? If you like being treated with kindness and respect, then you should look for a dating partner who is kind and respectful to other people. If you like to be listened to, then look for a dating partner who does not talk too much but who is willing to listen to you. If you enjoy school, then you may enjoy dating someone who likes school. If you like to laugh, then dating someone who is funny might be important to you. If music moves you, then you may want to date someone who is also affected by music. While it may be true that sometimes “opposites attract”, you are more likely to find dating happiness with someone who shares some basic qualities in common with you.
  2. Make a list of what you find attractive in a date. Compare potential dates to what you are looking for. You can be flexible, but don’t stray too far from your list of important qualities and don’t let the way someone looks overrule every other factor.
  3. Ask those who know you best and care about you most. They may have good ideas about the type of person for you to date.
