What do I do: If I want a Christian perspective?

1. God has a design and a desire for dating that is best for us and will help lead to our happiness.
2. God desires for us to allow Him the freedom to control our entire dating life and future marriage plans.
3. God desires for us to have the proper reasons and motives for dating. We should not date in an attempt to “complete” ourselves. Only Jesus Christ can make a person complete.
4. God desires for us to have a sexually pure dating life.
   1. Be careful who you date. Be aware of their motives. Are they mostly interested in sex? If so, they are not a good date for you.
   2. Realize how highly God values your body.
   3. Don’t confuse your deepest emotional needs with sex. “What a man desires is unfailing love” (Proverbs 19:22).
5. God desires for us to date the right kind of people. Don’t date those who have a reputation for trouble-making or abuse.
6. God loves you and desires that the first love of your life be found in Jesus Christ.
