Depression
What do I do: If I want a Christian perspective?
- Depression has a way to make even the strongest feel weak and vulnerable. In fact, Jesus himself was a man of great sorrow and familiar with suffering (Isaiah 53:3; Matthew 26:38).
- Even though you feel alone, you should know that God sees your struggle and knows of your depression (Psalm 38:9).
- God offers for you to place your trust and your hope in Him (Psalm 43:5).
- God wants you to cast your worries on Him (Psalm 55:22)
- God’s wants to be your strength (Psalm 46:1)
- Christ cares for you in your worries (1 Peter 5:7)
- God is always with you (Psalm 16:8)
- Sometimes sin causes our depression (25:17-18)
- God’s love provides peace and overcomes our emotions (John 16:33)
- God is strong in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
- If we keep our mind on Christ, he will give us peace (Isaiah 26:3)
