Your Story

Parents, dating, and school: three things that nearly all teenagers deal with. Even though attending school is a common experience for nearly every American teenager, not all teenagers experience school in the same way. For many students, the Junior High and High School years are some of their best. Many students find life-long friends, an idea about their future, and their first dating experience in school. Other students meet the challenges of sports, musical arts, and academics with success, though they have to work very hard for the success they find. They begin to understand who they are and how they fit into the big, big world. For other students, the Junior High and High School years are very difficult. These students wake up every morning and have to talk themselves into going one more day. They cannot stand the thought of dealing with the people at school. They may struggle to deal with their classmates, their teachers, their principal, and may not even like themselves. In other words, there are few people at school that they relate to. When a student hates school like this, it is almost impossible for them to succeed. They are at a high risk of dropping out.

So what about you? If you are reading this Virtual Hope Coach it is probably because you hate school. Whatever the reasons that you have for hating school, you do not have to drop out and you do not have to continue hating school. Hope exists and help is available.
