(Video) Death by Suicide: All Too Soon

Suicidal thoughts?  You are not alone!

TheHopeLine is here for you if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, are lonely, depressed, struggling with self-worth, or just need someone to talk to.  The more you can talk about your feelings and not hold everything inside, the more you can begin to feel a weight lifted off of you and find hope.  In honor of National Suicide Prevention Week, we partnered with Vlogsters to bring you a powerful video inspired by a girl who died by suicide.

[Video] All Too Soon (A Slam Poem by Andrew Nuno)

TheHopeLine has partnered with Vlogsters to bring you this video.  Vlogsters is a group of three high school film-making friends staying connected with Vlogs and more through their college lives.  One of the Vlogsters, Adrian Nuno, tells us how this video came to be:

“All Too Soon” began as a slam poem that my brother Andrew wrote back in the beginning of 2014 in response to a local tragedy in our community that involved the suicide of a girl because of cyber bullying. Andrew needed to channel what had happened into something creative and this poem came about as a result.

Ever since the poem was written, I had constantly told Andrew that he should make it into a video but because of other projects we were working on at the time, we never got the chance to make it. Two things this year brought about the opportunity for this video to finally happen. The first was Andrew’s vlog on our channel, Vlogsters, which was titled “You are Loved.”  In this vlog, Andrew told our viewers that you are loved no matter what and that someone will always be there for you. This inspired me to reignite the conversation with Andrew of getting this project finally going. The second was my work that is still ongoing with my Phi Theta Kappa board (an honors society at my college). We are in the midst of a project surrounding mental illness and how people should not feel ashamed about it.

These two things along with more unfortunate tragedies in our community inspired us to revisit this project and to finally get it done. We had two of our good friends star in this video and Andrew memorized the poem and we got our film cameras out and rolling! After three filming days and a week of editing, “All Too Soon” finally became a reality.

Living is hard, dieing is simple and easy. And to die by my choice seems to be the only way. Nobody not one friend nor family to talk to.. I’v wasted years thinking somebody could help me. The more i realise i’m just alone the more evident it becomes i’m not ment to live this life. Everything seems so pointless being alive.
