Bible Verses About Sex, Love and Dating – Help from God

Bible Verses About Sex, Love and Dating – Help from God TheHopeLine

Why Should I Wait to Have Sex?

Has your relationship got to the point that you feel like sex is the next step? Verses of hope to help you make the decision to have sex or to wait while in a dating relationship.

God Designed Sex for Marriage:

Genesis 2:24  That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

1 Corinthians 7:2-4  But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.

Avoid Sexual Impurity:

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5  For God wants you to be holy and pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin so that each of you will marry in holiness and honor not in lustful passion as the heathen do, in their ignorance of God and his ways.

1 Corinthians 6:18-19  That is why I say to run from sex sin. No other sin affects the body as this one does. When you sin this sin it is against your own body.  Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you.

Galatians 5:19  When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,

With God’s Help We Can Withstand Temptation:

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Psalm 119:9-10 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.  With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
