How to Stop My Porn Addiction?

How to Stop My Porn Addiction?

Trevor is addicted to porn. His addiction started at the age of 11. He watches porn 4 to 5 hours a day. It’s been a secret, until now.

His Porn Addiction Started at Age 11

Trevor (CARBONDALE, IL) QUESTION:

Trevor: I’m addicted to porn.

Dawson: When did you start watching porn?

Trevor: About 11

Dawson:  Wow. Where’d you see it, on the computer or what?

Trevor: Well, yes. My class had to do a science project. We got on the internet and it just popped up.

Dawson: And you said, I can see this all the time now.

Trevor: Yeah, pretty much.

Dawson: How many hours a day do you watch porn?

Trevor: It depends.

Dawson: 4 or 5 hours?

Trevor: Somewhere around there.

Dawson: 4 or 5 hours a day you’re watching porn…I’d say that’s an addiction alright. Who have you told about this?

Trevor: No one. It’s been a secret.

DAWSON MCALLISTER’S ANSWER:

Dawson: As long as it remains a secret, you will continue to be in your addiction. You’ve got to find somebody you can tell your story to, who will mentor you and hold you accountable and talk with you. There are certain triggers that happen when you turn to porn, and you need to find out what those triggers are. Meanwhile Trevor, you’re basically trashing females. Did you know 90% of all sex stars have been sexually addicted, think of that, and they continue to be victims. They don’t care about you. They just want their money. And usually their money doesn’t go very far. You know why? They’re into drugs. So you’re really looking at some victims here. And you are helping perpetuate the victimhood of it all because you’re supporting a billion-dollar industry, not to mention what it does to your mind.

TheHopeLine’s partner, XXXChurch, has an online community and resources to prevail over sex and porn addiction through awareness, prevention, and recovery.
