Broken Heart – I feel like I need a new relationship in order to move on

Gretchen Lawson: When we are feeling the feelings of a broken heart, we can at times want to distract from those feelings, and sometimes that means getting involved in another relationship. It is important when you are dealing with a broken heart to really focus on yourself, to focus on being healthy, to really look at how you’re feeling, not distract from your feelings, but actually sit in your feelings. I know that it can be not always fun, but it’s really important that you deal with and feel your feelings, not avoid them, not distract from them. You want to move forward when you’ve had time to heal, not any time earlier. You want to be healthy and be the best you you can be when you choose to be in another relationship, and that may mean you need to wait.
