Loneliness - Why do I feel lonely even though I'm around people all the time?

Gretchen Lawson: I have people walk in my office who are around people all day long and will talk about feeling really alone or feeling like they don't belong or feeling lonely. A lot of times we can mistake physical proximity with emotional connection.

Gretchen Lawson: It is important to engage with other people. We need people, we need community. We need to give, and we need to receive from other people. I would say, it's important when we're in a room full of people to choose a person to walk over and go talk to, to begin to share who we are with that person and ask them questions about who they are.
