Mental Health: Tips on Controlling Emotions

How Do You Stop Letting Your Emotions Control You?

Here's the tea sis. There's actually not even tea in here, I just did it for props.

Anyway. So, in an attempt to be real with you guys, I want to let you guys in on, what's been going on in my life lately. So been in quarantine for a little bit, because COVID is kind of crazy. And I have been going a little bit crazy along with COVID and this morning I realized that I've been a little bit cranky. I've been going a little bit crazy. I probably have been kind of short with people and that is not okay and it's not nice at all. And I realized that I had been letting my emotions and my situation, control me rather than me taking control of my emotions and me leading my emotions.

So, this morning I woke up and I decided, you know what? I'm going to decide what kind of attitude I'm going to have today. I'm going to decide my emotions and how I go into this day and whatever happens, I'm not going to let the situations dictate my mental health. I'm going to handle it with intentionality. So that's exactly what I did. I woke up this morning. I had a great quiet time, and I wrote down and I said, I am deciding this morning to have joy. I am deciding this morning to be grateful. No matter what happens, I'm going to choose joy.

Why Is It Important to Control Your Emotions?

Almost just knocked my fake tea over. And I can honestly say that it has been a game-changer. My day has actually been so much better than it was the past few days, because I just decided that I was going to be joyful. And the past few mornings, I haven't really like decided I've just been like, well, whatever happens in the day. And I've just let my situation and my circumstance dictate how I was going to treat others and even talk to myself.

So, here's my encouragement to you. If life is crazy, you can still decide how you're going to respond, how you're going to act and the attitude that you're going to have towards it. So, life may be going crazy, but that doesn't mean that you have to go crazy. Even my hair looks crazy, whatever. Anyways, so this has been teatime with Carissa.

Thanks For Watching

Thanks for watching this video and if you think that teatime with Carissa should become a weekly thing, let me know, or it wouldn't be teatime, or maybe I could drink tea, but it would just be like me drinking normal room, temperature water out of the mug. But you guys can drink tea with me, or you can drink normal temperature, water in a mug with me. But anyway, let me know what you guys think in the comments down below, and don't forget to subscribe and hit the notifications button so that you get a notification.
